About this game

YK Street Guesser is a public, anonymous street-name game for Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. It is provided for entertainment and local geography practice, as-is, with no warranty.

Accounts and scores

The game does not create accounts or store public scores. Personal bests stay in your browser. There is no leaderboard and no server-side score history.

What this site stores

The app uses localStorage on your device only:

• yk_high_score_180, yk_high_score_300, and yk_high_score_600 for timed personal bests
• yk_street_guesser_muted for the sound and haptic mute toggle
• yk_onboarding_dismissed_v1 after you dismiss the first-run tips

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes those values. The game does not set its own cookies.

Hosting and analytics

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. When Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled for this hostname, it may inject a cookieless usage beacon. There are no marketing cookies and no third-party advertising SDKs. Cloudflare's edge may still apply its own operational cookies for security and delivery.

Map data and attribution

Street names and geometry are derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database Licence (ODbL). The file at /data/streets.geojson is a derived database. You must keep this attribution if you reuse that data.

Map tiles are provided by CARTO with OpenStreetMap attribution preserved in the game interface. The map is rendered with Leaflet, which is available under the BSD 2-Clause licence.
